How does the referral process work?
Your referrals can start their free trial for G Suite by signing up via your unique referral link. When they enter their billing information, they have the option to apply one of your promotion codes at any time within the 14-day trial period. You will be eligible for payments once your referrals have been paying G Suite customers for at least 120 days. Rewards vary by country. Once you are eligible for payment, we will send you an email notification to fill in your payment form. The referral payment will be deposited in your bank account by the end of the following month.
Whom can I refer?
You can refer any business that has not previously started a G Suite trial and is not currently a customer of a G Suite partner.
You can also refer G Suite to any individual who is starting their business and does not have a professional Google domain/account (i.e. G Suite).
Who is eligible for referral payment?
Customers are eligible for payment if they are new G Suite customers, are from one of these eligible countries and have not previously signed up for a trial. You will be eligible for payment on your customer’s first 100 users, and there is no limit to the number of customers you can refer.
Where can I find my referral link?
Your referral link can be found in the welcome email that you received after registering for the programme. The email was sent from the G Suite Referral Programme and you should receive it within 24 hours.
If you can’t find your welcome email, please check your "Promotions” tab in Gmail. You can also contact us with the email address that you signed up with if you still can’t find your link.
How much can I earn?
As a member of the G Suite Referral Programme, you can earn for every new user that signs-up either AU $15 (for the G Suite Basic plan) or AU $30 (for G Suite Business plan), up to AU $3,000 per domain.
A user is an individual account belonging to the customer domain. Your referral amount will be based on the number of users who have paid for at least 120 days.

Is there a way for me to track the status of my referrals?
We regularly send out a dashboard email that will include the status of your referrals. This email displays the number of:
- In-trial Referrals: Referrals who are currently in their 14-day trial.
- Potential Paid Referrals: Eligible referrals who are located in any of these eligible countries, and have completed their 14-day trial. These referrals may have also used your promotion code, but have not completed 120 days of signing up with their new G Suite account.
- Paid Referrals: Referrals that completed their 120 days as paying G Suite account users. After a referral converts into a paid referral, look out for an email from the G Suite Referral Programme requesting your bank details.
If you would like to know the number of users your referral has, you can send us a message and we can check how many eligible referrals and seats they have.
My referral forgot to use my referral link. Is there a way to track it back to my account?
We're unable to track referrals back to your account if they didn't use your referral link at the time they signed up.
Can I receive payment for previous customers I referred before the Referral Programme was launched or before I signed up?
The Referral Programme tracks referrals that are new G Suite customers. We cannot grant referral credits to customers who have signed up or started a trial before the programme launched or before you joined.
Can I refer customers in any country?
In order to refer a customer in another country, you must be registered in that country or a country in the same region.
For example, if you live in India, you are eligible to refer customers in any country within the Asia Pacific region. However, if you live in India and would like to refer someone in the UK, you must register in the UK or any country within the EMEA.
At present, the programme is available in the countries listed here. You will need a bank account in each country in which you register. At the moment, credit will not be given for referred customers outside the countries listed.

How does the promotion code discount work?
If you provide a promotion code to one of your referrals, he/she is entitled to 20% off per user for the first year as a G Suite customer. Your referrals can enter their promotion code in the Billing section of their Customer Admin Console when they sign up, or throughout their 14-day trial period.
Each promotion code is unique and can only be redeemed by one customer from the country in which you signed up.
When should my referral use my promotion code?
G Suite offers a 14-day trial. When the customer is ready to provide their billing information before the trial is over, they should enter your promotion code.
Where can my customer enter the promotion code?
- Once your referral has finished signing up to G Suite, they can log in to the G Suite window with their domain name and select Admin Console.
- Inside the Admin Console, they will find the Setup Billing button in red on the top-right hand side of the window.
- In the Setup Billing window, they can enter the promotion code in the field called Promotional Code.
If they need to enter this code after they have already entered their billing, they can find the option in the payment plan section of the billing console.
My referral forgot to use their promotion code. Can we still get the discount?
Your referral can use the promotion code as long as they have not input their billing info yet. If they have not, they have their entire 14-day trial to enter it.
My promotion code does not work
Upon entering your promotion code, you will see a note about a 20% discount being applied at the bottom of the billing summary that states, 'amount plus applicable taxes and VAT minus the promotional discount'. Since your referral will be able to change the number of users that they have and are able to change G Suite plans, the actual monetary amount of the discount will be reflected in the monthly billing.
When and how will I get paid?
- You will be eligible for your payment once your referral has been a paid G Suite customer for at least 120 days.
- Once you’re eligible for your first payment, you will receive an email asking for your bank details through our secure form.
- On the 25th of the month, following the referrals you made that are eligible for payments, you will receive a direct deposit in your bank account for any payments you earned.
How to avoid payment delays
When your referral is eligible and has been a paying G Suite user for more than 120 days. You should receive an email with information on how to provide us your bank details. Once you have received the 'Last Reminder' email, you should have another couple of weeks to provide us with your bank details.
If you happen to miss the time frame to provide this information, you may experience some delays with your payment process as your 'window' will have been closed. However, you will still be able to get paid. You may just have to wait until we re-open your payment process 'window'.

Why haven’t I received my payment in my bank account?
Payments are processed on a monthly basis. If you have not received a payment, you will probably receive it during next month’s payment cycle. Please contact us with your account details to verify.
Who needs to fill out the W-8BEN tax form?
Are you located in the US?
No, I do not live in the United States, BUT plan to refer someone from the Americas – If you plan to refer to a country in the Americas (United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Peru) you must fill in the W-8BEN tax form (more information here).
This W-8BEN tax form is for referrers who are not located in the US but are referring individuals or businesses located in the Americas.
Yes, I live in the United States: Referrers who are located in the US, do not have to fill in the W-8BEN tax form.
Why is my bank charging me fees?
We have heard from some fellow referrers that they have had to pay some bank 'fees' when receiving the payment through their bank. This will depend exclusively on your bank. Please also note that Google does not cover these fees. You will have to contact your bank for more information.
Why is my bank converting the currency for my referrals to my local currency?
Your bank may have to convert the currency of your referral into your local currency. Depending on which country your referral is from, Google has no control over the associated exchange rate and fees.
My bank is charging me fees that are more than my referral bonus. Can I hold my payment until my referral bonus reaches AU $XXX?
Contact us to request a hold to your payment until your referral reaches AU $XXX.
Depending on the bank transfer fees, currency conversion or any other bank-associated fees that are due to the time when you receive your first payment. You can contact our support team to request a payment hold until you have reached a certain amount of referral bonus that will cover these initial bank fees. You will then collect that payment once you have reached that referral AU $XXX amount.
